The Asklepion

The Asklepion lies beyond Platani village in the southeast of Kos Town. It is an ancient medical center that was built around the 3rd century BC and was devoted to the god of health and medicine Asklepios. Hippocrates, one of the most important representatives of medicine taught in the school he founded in that area. The location of this sight is ideal, on top of a lush hill, from where you may admire the town of Kos and the sea as well as the coasts of Asia Minor! It’s a place that inspires calmness and makes you recollect of the past.
